Boosteroid begins cooperation with Polcom
Boosteroid is the world’s largest independent cloud gaming provider that operates 28 data centers – one of the largest GPU-based hardware networks in the world – bringing low-latency cloud gaming experience to over 8 million users in Europe, North and South America. Server solutions behind Boosteroid are developed together with AMD and ASUS – they power the most high-end cloud gaming virtual machine on the market. Boosteroid helps players run 1700+ video games, including the world’s most popular titles, on any desktop, mobile or smart TV device, regardless of its processing power and operating system. Currently, the company is headquartered in Austin, Texas with its main R&D office based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and several local entities operating in the EU. Boosteroid has a team of 120+ people.
Challenge
The dynamic growth of the gaming market in Central and Eastern Europe has made Poland one of Boosteroid’s key expansion destinations. As the world’s largest independent cloud gaming service provider, the company sought to provide users in the region with even better connection quality and lower latency.
The objective of the project was to establish a new, high-performance server environment that would minimise latency and enhance the stability of real-time gameplay. The new infrastructure was also intended to support the further development of Boosteroid’s services in Poland and neighbouring countries, providing suitable conditions for GPU servers with high electricity and cooling requirements.
Solution
As part of the investment, Boosteroid launched new server infrastructure in one of the most secure data centres in the region – Polcom Data Center. By leveraging Polcom’s colocation services and comprehensive technical support, Boosteroid has established a high-performance environment specifically optimized for demanding cloud gaming workloads.
The average latency for gamers in Poland has been reduced from 15–20 ms to around 5 ms, which directly impacts user comfort and satisfaction with the platform. This has had a positive impact on gamers from Poland, as well as users from neighbouring countries, including Ukraine, who have experienced a notable enhancement in connection quality due to the proximity of the servers to their network infrastructure.
Boosteroid’s new infrastructure represents a significant development in the area of cloud gaming services in the CEE region. The Polcom data centre is committed to upholding the highest standards of physical, energy and procedural security, along with technical infrastructure dedicated to high-density power servers. This has enabled the launch of a platform based on AMD processors and graphics cards, offering gameplay in up to 4K and 120 FPS.
