The scientific journal Applied Energy has published an article
About the cooling system at Polcom's data processing center.Environmental care is an important aspect of our operations. At Polcom, we firmly believe that, just as in the IT field, good management of available resources and continuous development are crucial in the ecological domain. That is why we are constantly working on areas related to efficient utilization of cooling and electrical energy resources, among others.
Article in a prestigious scientific journal
We are even more delighted to share the news about our colleague’s success! Mateusz Borkowski, Deputy Technical Director of Data Center at Polcom, has been responsible for the development of cooling systems in our centers for many years, often employing innovative and even pioneering solutions. As part of his implementation doctoral thesis at AGH University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with his supervisor, Dr. hab. Adam Piłat, he has just published an article on the cooling system at Polcom’s data processing center. The material was featured in the esteemed scientific journal Applied Energy, renowned worldwide.
Three-party agreement within the framework of an implementation doctoral thesis
It is also worth mentioning that in January 2019, Mateusz signed a three-party agreement with AGH University of Science and Technology and Polcom, within which he is working on an implementation doctoral thesis. The title of the thesis is: “Optimization of Electrical Energy Consumption by the Data Center Cooling System in a Transitional Climate Using Control Systems and Data Analysis.” We are proud of Mateusz and the fact that the infrastructure of our centers can be the subject of research that paves the way for new solutions in the field of cooling system automation!
As Mateusz himself emphasizes: The aim of the doctoral thesis is to develop an energy-efficient and functionally reliable, automated cooling system for our data centers. It’s a significant challenge, but I am very pleased that I can undertake it with the support of Polcom and the University.
Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? So we invite you to read the publication!
