Safe e-commerce

with Polcom SOC

Without a proper IT infrastructure, a company cannot remain competitive in the market and meet the ever-increasing expectations of customers. Any interruption in the operation of a website or application exposes the store to building negative reactions from customers, and consequently losing them. Poczta Kwiatowa, a leader in online flower sales, has chosen the Polcom SOC solution to minimize such risks.

Jak zabezpieczyć firmę przed hakerami?

Poczta Kwiatowa has set its sights on data and systems security, and to this end has implemented Security Operation Center services in a service model.

Increasing scale of cyber-attacks in e-commerce industry

Companies operating in the e-commerce industry need to be adequately prepared for the influx of new customers, but they should also properly secure their IT infrastructure against cybercriminals. According to a CDNetworks 2020 source, last year the e-commerce sector was the third most common target of cyber-attacks in Poland. Attacks were largely concerned with data interception and gaining access to IT infrastructure.

Protection against cyber attacks

Poczta Kwiatowa sought to secure its online store against cybercriminals and data loss. At the same time, the company was keen to gain full support in monitoring and responding to all kinds of security incidents.

– We are aware of threats that could disrupt the operations of our business or compromise our customers’ data in some way. Preferring prevention rather than cure, we decided to invest in additional, comprehensive security measures, which is why we decided to implement the Security Operation Center service , which provides adequate protection against hacking attacks, as well as actively supports the monitoring of IT infrastructure, alerting on potential threats. This allows us to quickly respond to incidents before they become a problem – says Michal Sikora of Poczta Kwiatowa.

Comprehensive support with Security Operation Center

Polcom SOC guarantees the protection of both the ordering platform and the customers using it. It protects the entered payment card data, through proper encryption, so customers do not have to worry about the safety of their finances. Continuous, round-the-clock monitoring and security analysis allow for adequate preparation and quick response in the event of any crisis situation or gaining information about possible application vulnerabilities.

Such a complex service allows great savings. Both cloud computing, and SOC, allow us to optimize costs and protect against unforeseen expenses that could surprise our company when using our own infrastructure. We estimate that abandoning the implementation of a full security incident monitoring system on our own in favour of using the SOC system reduced costs by up to 85 percent – says Michal Sikora of Poczta Kwiatowa.
