Carrefour Polska
opts for modern cloud computing technologies at Polcom
Carrefour Polska, a leader of innovations in the FMCG sector, while implementing the assumptions of the global strategic plan “Carrefour 2022”, decided to migrate its IT infrastructure to the cloud computing environment.
Nowadays the chains of grocery stores as well as other entities operating on the Polish market carry out several investments related to new technologies. Carrefour Polska, a leader of innovations in the FMCG sector, while implementing the assumptions of the global strategic plan “Carrefour 2022”, decided to migrate its IT infrastructure to the cloud computing environment. It is an important step on the way to greater business flexibility and technological maturity which will facilitate management in this area and influence the accessibility of systems for customers of Carrefour Polska.
Conducting business is characterized by great variability and in case of one of a dispersed structure it constitutes a huge challenge. At Carrefour, we were searching for a solution that would enable us to increase IT flexibility without the need to plan investments in the infrastructure. The solution that, on the one hand, would let us properly prepare all the systems for the so-called shopping peaks, e.g. during Christmas time, but, on the other hand, make it possible to better control the costs, especially the ones related to investments, Michał Malanowski, director of the IT department at Carrefour Polska, says. – We opted for modern cloud computing technologies and cooperation with a trusted Polish cloud computing service provider Polcom, which provides efficient IT environment from its two independent data processing centers. We believe that it will contribute to strengthening of our position as one of the leaders of technological transformations – Michal Malanowski, Director of the IT department at Carrefour Polska.
