How are Polish companies coping with economic slowdown in the country

The economic crisis is currently big challenge for many organizations both in Poland and around the world. Entrepreneurs have been forced to develop strategies aimed at minimizing this impact of the slowdown their businesses. In response to this difficulty, companies in Poland more often taking various actions, such as investing in new technologies.

Investment in IT pays off

One of most common steps taken by companies during economic slowdown is implementation of technological innovations. Polish entrepreneurs have started to recognize the potential of digitalization as a tool for supporting business development. IT investments, such as migrating resources to the cloud, may bring tangible benefits. Organizations more often plan to increase expenditures in this sector to optimize investments costs, improve business efficiency and enhance the scalability of IT environments.

IT spending is most commonly correlated with the pace of the economic growth. On the other hand, slowdown may be time for innovation, optimization and automation. Today, the modus operandi remains the same for every industry: try to find balance between innovating and cost-cutting – notes Robert Czarniewski, Vice President and CFO at Polcom.

A perspective on the future

According to data from the Polcom and Intel report “Inwestycje IT w czasach kryzysu. Chmura i nowe technologie. Perspektywa na lata 2022-23” half of the surveyed companies plan to increase their spending on new technologies, including cloud solutions, and 88 percent see opportunities for growth in upcoming technological changes.

Such a trend is not surprising, as the rapid adaptation of businesses to market conditions and harnessing the potential of pervasive digitization are extremely important at present.

Investments in IT can help reduce future costs. The migration of IT infrastructure to cloud computing already brings tangible benefits. The subscription-based model of IT is more cost-effective than on-premise solutions. An important element in the cost-saving plan is paying only for the resources actually used – adds Robert Czarniewski.

A global problem

Economic slowdown poses a challenge for entrepreneurs worldwide. Despite the difficulties, Polish entrepreneurs have no intention of reducing investments in information technology. They are aware that flexibility, innovation, and skilful utilization of modern solutions are key to maintaining their market position.
