Does a company need to be large

To benefit from cloud computing?

Just a few years ago, when cloud computing was a novelty and innovation, only a few could afford it. However, over the years, this has changed significantly, and cloud computing is now accessible to anyone who wants to quickly adapt to changes and meet the needs of customers or users.

Many Polish companies, especially from the SME sector, cannot afford to purchase modern equipment that ensures IT security at the level provided by professional data centers. An additional challenge is building a qualified IT team because, as market data shows, shortages of personnel in the IT industry can have a real impact on the development of companies in 2022.

The answer to the question of whether a company needs to be large to use cloud computing is clear: the cloud is not a luxury for a chosen few, but a solution for all companies open to digital solutions.

Cloud as the engine of technological change

According to the Polcom and Intel report titled ‘IT Investments for the Development of Polish Companies in 2021-2022: Cloud and New Technologies,’ it is evident that cloud computing will be the main driver of technological changes. This is acknowledged by 65 percent of the participants surveyed by Computerworld.

Data processing in cloud computing is becoming a common business practice, and the growing popularity of such services allows companies to free their business from the constraints of traditional IT infrastructure. Cloud computing enables the utilization of cutting-edge technologies and software for business growth, regardless of their size or scale of operations.

Currently, the cloud is primarily a universal tool used in the same model by companies of different specialties for different purposes. The report undoubtedly indicates that cloud computing will move towards specialized platforms that meet the specific needs of various sectors. Cloud solutions will become a commonly used solution in business, comparable to algorithms today – emphasizes Dr. Maciej Kawecki, President of the Institute of Polish Future of S. Lem.

Specialist support

Does a company need to have an extensive IT team to use the cloud? The answer is: no. With the needs of businesses in mind, Managed Cloud Services have been created, where we carry out projects ranging from the service desk level to the management of complex IT environments.

Mariusz Juranek, Sales Director at Polcom, lists a number of benefits for companies resulting from the implementation of cloud services: Availability, efficiency, flexibility, and scalability of cloud resources allow for the initiation of new business or implementation projects, including testing, which is difficult to achieve with the on-premise model (purchasing IT infrastructure for business projects).
