Axians IT Services uses Polcom Cloud

Axians undertook the implementation of an ERP system based on Infor LN software, which enabled the digitization and automation of Warszawskie Metro business processes.

Metro Warszawskie is a modern transport company whose key task is to carry out metro transport in the country’s capital, supervise construction work on its expansion (managing investment projects), and maintain its infrastructure, including trainsets.

A flexible and scalable infrastructure was required to ensure the ERP system’s continuity. Axians began searching for a partner that would meet the company’s and its customer’s requirements. The company was looking for a solution that would not only guarantee a secure environment with uninterrupted business continuity but also perform a data migration involving a large number of records from legacy systems. With thousands of people using the Warsaw Metro every day, it was crucial to be sure that the cloud provider would provide the highest quality standards and approach the project with due diligence. In addition, the timeframe in which the implementation would be completed was important to Axians.

Implementation of the Infor LN system was associated with numerous benefits. The implemented software enables effective planning, project management, and accounting for tasks – both at the investment and operational stages. In addition, it allows, among other things, the recording of repairs and overhauls in connection with the maintenance of fixed asset registers, the scheduling of works, and the review of their status. The preparation and launch of the system were divided into two releases. All project work was carried out during the demanding pandemic period.

After a thorough analysis of the solutions available on the market, the cloud environment provided by the Polish provider Polcom was selected. With many years of experience in providing cloud computing services for businesses and a scalable and secure service platform, Polcom provided adequate support for the project.

The ERP system was deployed to over 400 direct users. The PaaS (Platform as a Service) environment was the perfect solution for Metro Warszawskie, providing the flexibility and scalability needed to manage the ERP system effectively. As a result, the company was able to easily adapt to changing business needs without having to invest in a standard on-premise infrastructure. In addition, the cloud computing solution enabled new features to be deployed quickly and seamlessly, allowing for continuous improvement in the performance of the IT infrastructure. As a result, the company was able to focus on achieving its strategic business goals, confident that the INFOR LN ERP system is fully functional and reliable.
