DPK System is a leading manufacturer of proprietary software for the public transport sector, specialising in information systems for planning, management and optimisation of resource utilisation for Public Transport Organisers and Operators.

Challenge

When providing IT systems for key – from a passenger perspective – transport operators, it is crucial to ensure trouble-free and continuous operation.

With the increase of the number of customers, DPK System started to analyze the market to find a solution that would allow greater flexibility and increased availability of the transport management system. Another reason for DPK System searching for alternative solutions was also the cost of infrastructure that the customer had to incur with the purchase of the company’s software.

DPK System decided to offer the solution in Polcom cloud.

Such model for providing transport management services allows DPK to avoid problems caused by hardware issues on the customer side, for instance delay in implementation due to protracted server purchase procedures for the system being installed or the removal of the software failures resulting from the inability of the client’s servers.

Cloud computing provides unlimited scalability of IT environment and allows it to be constantly adapted to the current customer’s needs. It is also significant that Polcom undergoes a number of periodic audits and certification and responsibility for the proper operation of the infrastructure is solely on the part of the data center, which frees DPK from the need to constantly monitor the condition of customers’ equipment.
