IT sector in Poland resilient to crisis

Find out why

Despite the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine and rising inflation, the IT sector is proving to be resilient to economic turbulence and is experiencing stable growth around the world, including in Poland. According to IDC research, the cumulative annual growth of the IT sector between 2023 and 2027 will reach 5,8 percent in the Central and Eastern Europe. This shows that the European IT market is in good shape. What is the reason for this state of affairs?

Investment in the IT sector

Demand for digital transformation is growing. Outsourcing of IT services is becoming equally important, which, combined with access to a skilled workforce, is one of the main factors driving the industry’s continued growth. The increase in investment in the new technology sector is due to the growing awareness of the benefits of digitization and cloud computing services.

Both private companies and public institutions are realizing that digital solutions positively impact operational efficiency and streamline business management processes. In addition, digitization enables easier analysis of data, which makes it possible to make more accurate decisions and allows access to new communication channels and markets. And that which is conducive to business growth.

Skilled IT workers are available in Poland. More and more IT outsourcing projects are being implemented in our country. Entities doing business in Poland want to invest in new technologies, including cloud solutions. The manufacturing sector companies surveyed in the Polcom and Intel report plan to modernize critical business systems – ERP, WMS or CRM – and manufacturing automation solutions in a timeframe of no more than three years. Both of these areas are perfectly in line with the current trend toward digital transformation and underscore the shift in the role of IT from infrastructure provider to business partner – notes Mariusz Juranek, Sales Director at Polcom.

The rise of cyber threats

The IT sector’s resilience also stems from the growing threat from cybercriminals, which determines the implementation of appropriate IT technologies. Organizations are forced to constantly strengthen network security and stay abreast of cyber security trends.

Companies are aware of the threat, so backup solutions and protection against hacking attacks, ensuring data security, are steadily gaining popularity. It is also becoming increasingly common to use cloud technologies , which provide flexibility and a high level of security.

Digital transformation enables companies and public institutions to adapt quickly to changing economic conditions, flexibility and scalability of operations. It is the advantages of digitization and the high level of security characterized by new technologies that may be the reason why the IT sector is doing so well in times of crisis and uncertainty in the market.
