Digitalization strategy
Why is it worth having?
The ‘Digital Adoption Report’ by WalkMe shows that 80 percent of respondents consider rapid adoption of modern technologies as crucial to stand out from the competition. The counterweight to such optimistic data is the fact that as many as 60 percent do not have a clearly defined plan for implementing changes, and only 20 percent of companies are satisfied with their strategy for conducting digital transformation.
So, what needs to be taken care of to ensure that the digitalization process does not end in failure?
The foundation is plan
Digitalization requires companies not only to invest financially or invest time and additional work, but above all to have specialized knowledge about the process itself. Therefore, it is important to have the support of experts at every stage of digital transformation – even in the initial phase of project preparation. Collaboration with specialists ensures the company a safe and effective implementation of modern technological solutions.
Without analyzing the processes that occur in the company, developing a specific action plan proves to be extremely difficult. Arranging individual implementation procedures to a large extent facilitates the creation of an individual strategy tailored to the enterprise and understanding each stage of the digital transformation being carried out.
Digitalization is a response to many challenges, but the process of digital transformation requires companies to change their organizational culture towards understanding the role of new technologies. Therefore, investments in the development of human capital, increasing cognitive competencies, emotional intelligence, and cooperation are also necessary – explains Joanna Szyman, CEO of NEO Hospital.
What does digitalization look like in Poland?
93 percent of entrepreneurs undertake activities in the area of digital transformation – according to the report “IT investments towards the development of Polish companies in 2021-2022. Cloud and new technologies”. 30 percent of companies have declared that most of their processes have already been digitized and automated, 39 percent are taking action in this direction, and 24 percent are initiating the implementation of new technologies.
Polish entrepreneurs are increasingly using digital solutions. Computerization, automation, and digitization are the foundation for strong economic growth, offering new functionalities, increased efficiency, and cost reduction. NCBR closely observes and notices the rapid growth of entrepreneurs’ interest in the area of digitalization – says Dr. Wojciech Kamieniecki, Director of the National Center for Research and Development.
A transformation that cannot be stopped
Current market research shows that there is no turning back from the ongoing digitalization. These changes affect not only market giants but also small and medium-sized enterprises. More and more companies are deciding to implement modern technologies to remain competitive in the market. However, data gathered indicates that digital transformation carried out without a previously developed strategy is unlikely to yield the expected results.
