Cybersecurity in the era of increasing cyber threats

How to protect your company?

In the recent years, business has faced many challenges, but currently the greatest threat comes from cyberattacks. According to the Polcom and Intel report “IT in times of crisis. Cloud and new technologies. Perspective for 2022-2023” as many as 91 percent of surveyed entrepreneurs fear the risk of cyber threats. This situation is not surprising, considering the increasing number of hacking attacks that pose a serious threat to many organizations.

Cyberattacks are one of the greatest risks for business

Hacking attacks are no longer limited to just stealing corporate information – they can also lead to significant disruptions in the daily operations of the company.

The change in work models and the economic crisis have caused a significant increase in the risk of cyberattacks. Many companies had to suddenly transition to remote work without proper technological preparation and implementation of adequate security measures, resulting in an increased vulnerability to breaches of critical data security.

Like many other companies, we had to develop a response plan to emerging threats and adapt even faster to changing conditions – says Adrian Hojny, CTO in Fashion Trends Group.

Threats to e-commerce

One of the sector particularly vulnerable to threats emanating from the Internet is e-commerce. Large volumes of sensitive data are processed there, such as email addresses, credit cards numbers, and personal information. As a result, in the event of data breach, organizations are exposed to financial and reputational loses, as well as legal consequences related to information leaks.

Therefore business should take appropriate steps to secure the IT systems.

Companies should not rely solely on ad hoc actions because in this area, a comprehensive strategy and the right approach to protection are particularly important. This includes conducing cybersecurity training and implementing continuous system monitoring – summarizes Adrian Hojny.

Solutions such as Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity or Security Operation Center could help many entrepreneurs protect the businesses from hacker threats and minimize losses.
