The year 2020 has brought us many new challenges. Some were in the realm of daily life, others in the professional sphere. We had to get used to the necessary changes, such as the shift to remote work and online doctors visit. It was no different in 2021, which kept the trend going.
In the case of companies and public institution the current year has clearly demonstrated that digitalization is becoming an everyday reality, and without it many solution would not be possible at all. Having direct contact with IT departments, I have drawn some conclusion about how IT infrastructure has been affected by the evolution/revolution of our daily habits, and why it makes sense to move data to the cloud.
What challenges do IT teams face?
One of the biggest challenges for companies in 2021 is the flexibility of IT infrastructure and resources. Remote work is a good example of this. Many companies have been forced overnight to allow their employees to work from home.
In case when the infrastructure built over the years involved working from the office, the need to share resources remotely, forced by the pandemic, turned out to be a real challenge for many companies, especially in terms of corporate data security.
Cloud for business is it worth it?
Another important challenge is to ensure business continuity. Studies show that company digitalization is processing, and consequently, the impact of IT on business operations is constantly increasing.
Risk analysis, especially for regulated entities, often show the need to create an action plan for disasters such as fires or floods. Such an unexpected situation may result in data loss. However, disaster in the context of business interruption is not always associated with such unusual events. Sometimes a failure on the part of the operator providing the Internet connection or on the part of the electricity supplier is enough to stop the company’s operations, yet these are no longer such rare and isolated cases. In such situations, the costs associated with the downtime of the enterprise can often be high and difficult to estimate.
A good solution for such problems may be using of cloud computer. The pros of migration to the cloud are many, but the last two years have shown that is the way to avoid problems with business continuity and guarantee data security. Even if they ae processed off-site.
Benefits of migrating your business to the cloud Why is it worthy to move your company data to the cloud
Market research shows that an increasing step by companies to meet new challenges is computing services. What are the advantages of migrating a company to cloud computing? One of them is increasing or decreasing computing resources depending on the current needs of the company – that means quick respond to changing business demands. It is also an opportunity to improve the level of reliability of the IT environment. However, it is worthy to remember that not every cloud computing provides the same flexibility and security level.
That is why it is so important to pay attention to several aspects when choosing a provider:
- Possibility to create backup environment, known as Disaster Recovery;
- Possibility to geographically distribute resources;
- Flexible SLA tailored to the needs of our business
- Active monitoring of services and helpdesk 24/7
- Possibility od ready-made scenarios of responding to failures
Why is it worthy to move your company data to the cloud?
As with the implementation of any new technology in a company, there are also some concerns for business owners and IT departments when migrating data to the cloud. These are often related to the lack control of over the place where data is stored. One of the crucial aspects of our offer is the ability to specify the exact location of data storage in our data center, which is situated in Poland. What’s more, we take an individual approach to each project, so we are able to tailor our solutions to the specific needs of each client.
Cloud computing is already an integral part of IT environment in many companies in Poland and around the world. The growing trend in digitalization shows that we should start asking not “if” but “when” transfer data to the cloud.
