What expectations must they meet?
Data security, tailored offerings, data center location, pricing predictability, and quality of communication with the provider are the top 5 key expectations of companies using cloud services, according to the report “Cloud and cybersecurity among medium and large companies and GovTech sector in Poland 2022” published by Polska Chmura. Why do these aspects have such great importance for companies in Poland?
Secure and tailored IT environment
In 2022, cloud security and compliance with certificates are the most important issues for as many as 96 percent of respondents among medium and large companies in Poland.
Tailored services are also of considerable importance to companies – 9 out of 10 companies expect a project-based approach. Companies want their needs to be heard and solutions offered based on them. The implementation of a tailored service increases IT flexibility, reliability, and continuity of operation.
It’s good because it’s Polish
88 percent of the respondents declare their willingness to cooperate with a provider who has a data center in Poland. These data clearly show that the guarantee that data is stored in a specific location within the country is becoming increasingly important for most entrepreneurs.
The perception of Polish data centers is very positive. 88% of business representatives and 74% of the GovTech sector want their cloud provider to have a data center in the country – says Wiesław Wilk, President of the Polish Cloud Association, Vice President of the Polcom Board.
Clear conditions and professional service
The fourth aspect of choosing a cloud provider is cost predictability. 41 percent of respondents opt for a subscription-based payment model because it allows them to pay only for actual resource consumption. Business owners don’t like overpaying, which is why this form of payment is particularly appreciated in Polish companies.
The last issue concerns the quality of customer service. According to respondents, providers who offer the opportunity to contact specialists and provide support at every stage of the project perform better.
Signpost for IT providers
As the report by Polska Chmura shows, over 80 percent of respondents consider cloud security, customized solutions, and data center location in Poland as key factors. Therefore, entrepreneurs have very specific expectations towards companies providing IT services. Fulfilling these expectations seems to be necessary during the decision-making process when choosing a provider.
