E-commerce has never been so popular

Find out more

Until now, online stores were most popular during peak sales periods, such as before holidays or on occasions like Black Friday. However, everything changed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. E-commerce is now enjoying an unprecedented level of popularity.

Both smaller companies and large enterprises are witnessing significant interest in online shopping. Many of them have experienced substantial growth in online sales at the expense of their physical stores. Furthermore, some stores have been permanently closed, and all their sales have been shifted to the online sphere.

Stability of online platforms

Therefore, the security and stability of online platforms are crucial, and as a result, the uninterrupted operation of servers. It happens that despite the significant commitment of IT specialists and investments in infrastructure, some stores struggle to cope with increasing loads and the resulting problems.

In such situations, cloud computing appears to be an ideal solution for several reasons. Firstly, replacing traditional IT infrastructure with a cloud platform carries much lower investment risk and allows for a significant acceleration in adapting to possible peak sales periods from an end-user perspective. Secondly, the flexibility and scalability of cloud resources enable efficient opening and closing of new business projects, which is challenging to achieve with the on-premise model, meaning purchasing IT infrastructure for specific situations.

The ability to quickly respond to changing needs

Cloud computing allows for a rapid response to changing market needs, such as during peak sales periods. The ability to use IT resources on-demand is one of the greatest advantages of processing data in the cloud.

Efficiency in the functioning of the e-commerce sector is also significantly impacted by a smooth supply chain and proper warehouse management. Cloud computing enables efficient systems to be implemented in these areas as well, effectively managing the business. Through cloud computing, it becomes possible to track shipment statuses in real-time, process digitized documents from suppliers or carriers, and facilitate collaboration across multiple platforms through various protocols. All of this can be achieved at lower costs compared to traditional infrastructure.
