Do Polish companies need a digitalization strategy?

Find out more!

According to a KPMG report, only one-fifth of Polish companies have a prepared digital transformation strategy. However, this does not mean that companies are not investing in digitalization, as another report, this time prepared by Polska Chmura (Polish Cloud), shows that companies are by no means giving up and still have plans to invest in cloud solutions, among others. So, what is the reason behind the interest in cloud computing?

Not only cost optimization

Polcom provides cloud solutions for over 400 clients, and many of them have been using these services for many years. Years of experience and conversations with clients have allowed us to observe what companies truly value in cloud computing.

For our clients, it is important that by using cloud computing, they can significantly reduce the time and costs associated with bringing finished products to the market, known as “time to market.” This allows even smaller companies to confidently launch innovative, bold projects and quickly verify their profitability without incurring significant investment expenses.

Another factor is scalability and flexibility, which allows for dynamic adjustment of IT resources to the ever-changing market conditions – this also helps avoid excessive costs. In my opinion, this has an even greater impact on how cloud services are perceived by customers in the face of dynamic economic and business changes that we have been witnessing both in Poland and abroad over the past two years – says Marcin Gwóźdź, CEO of Polcom.

What about data security?

Just like the market, business needs are also changing. A few years ago, companies were mostly focused on cost optimization, but now, in the face of increased cyberattacks, issues related to ensuring a proper level of security have come to the forefront. This trend can be observed not only in large corporations but also in the SME sector.

According to the report by Polcom and Intel, we know that 57 percent of the surveyed companies have plans to implement cloud services to enhance the security of their infrastructure and ensure the continuity of their business operations.

It turns out that very often companies from the “larger” SME sector – representatives from industries such as manufacturing or e-commerce – have very similar needs for data security as large entities in the market. However, due to their scale of operations, their IT departments often lack specialized units in this area. Most of them are thriving companies that frequently operate online and base their market advantages on new technologies – explains Adam Matyaszek, Key Account Manager at Polcom.
